Yeeeeeeehaaaaaa!!!!

High as a kite but this time on foot..................

A terrific trip to Chamonix and the French Alps culminating in a succesful ascent to the summit of Mont Blanc(4800m).

First few days spent acclimatising with a bivvy at 2000m
and an airy ascent of the Domes De Miage (3673m).

For additional height a cable car ride to Aguille du Midi (3800m) and a days high altitude training in and around the Col Du Midi.

Wednesday 31st August - Mont Blanc............

Cable car and Tram ride, followed by a walk up to the Tete Rousse Refuge (3200m).
A 2am start and a rock scramble to the Gouter hut at 3500m.
A 13 hour day brought us back safely after reaching the summit (4800m) at 10am in perfect conditions.
The summit to ourselves (Myself, Paul B + Andy and Phil (BRMC)).

Could not have been a better day on the mountain but this diary can in no way reflect the effort it took to complete the climb.

Soon be back on the water but this trip will take some beating.................................
